CNS Raises $89 Million During The Campaign for MSU

 

The College of Natural Science has surpassed its capital campaign goal of $66.1 million by raising a total of $89.9 million between July 1, 1999 and September 29, 2007. The College to increased the total value of its endowment principal to more than $54 million with annual endowed interest for the College and its units of $5 million.

Facilities: $3.5 M

Campaign Total: $89.9 M

Total cmapaign progress was $89.9 M with a goal of $66.1 M.

All gifts to the College are classified in one of three different ways:

  1. Expendable gifts provide support for current College needs
  2. Endowed gifts are critical to the College as they provide reliable income in perpetuity
  3. Facility gifts are used immediately to assist with renovations and expansions

There are five general ways gifts are designated for use:

  • Research - support faculty and student research in general or specific areas
  • Faculty - support endowed chairs and scholarship at both the College and Departments levels
  • Student - support scholarships and fellowships
  • Programmatic - support specific initiatives and programs
  • Other - Gifts can also be made to discretionary funds where they can strategically have maximum impact

Totals include all cash, in-kind gifts, pledges, irrevocable life income agreements and
bequest commitments made between July 1, 1999 and September 29, 2007.
