Opportunities to maximize the college experience and enhance your education

 

Students are encouraged to explore and participate in the following opportunities which best connect with their educational goals.

 

Undergraduate Research - Students can participate in the exciting research work with university faculty. The experience and added value students receive is tremendous.

 

Summer Off-Campus Courses - The college provides science, math and statistics courses away from campus during the summer.

Study Abroad - The College offers many Study Abroad programs for students to experience the world. Scholarships are available to CNS students.

 

Residential Initiative on the Study of the Environment (RISE) - A residential program for students interested in stewardship of our environment.  RISE students get their feet wet and their hands dirty as they apply their knowledge to real life problems and projects.

 

Residential Opportunities at the Kellogg Station (ROKS) - This 'Study Away' program at the Kellogg Biological Station combines undergraduate course work in natural and social sciences while providing students the opportunity to experience one of MSU's premier off-campus research and education facilities. Students live a semester at KBS and take advantage of this through field-oriented classes.

 

Student Organizations - A variety of clubs and organizations exist for students to become involved in the College or related field of study.

 

Charles Drew Science Enrichment Laboratory - The Drew Program provides academic assistance and support for high achieving undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds that have historically produced few scientists and mathematicians. The program promotes the students’ preparation for postgraduate work and a career in the sciences to address the future needs of society.

 

Dual Degree Programs - Students enrolled in a B.S. program in the College have the opportunity to consider enrolling in graduate courses and conducting research toward a M.S. degree.
