Pathways
There are presently three pathways a student may take to obtain the proMSc degree in Zoo & Aquarium Science Management.
- Master's Plan B.
Students enter the program at the Master's level and become a Plan B Master's student in the Department of Zoology. Three letters of recommendation, a 3.0 or greater GPA from their undergraduate degree, the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and equivalent courses to those described in the Entrance Requirements section are required for applications to be considered.
- Master's Plan A.
Students enter the program at the Master's level and become a Plan A Master's student in the Department of Zoology. Application requirements are the same as those for the Plan B Master's, but the student is required to research and defend a thesis. For more information on Plan A and Plan B Master's degrees, please visit the Department of Zoology website.
- Bachelor's/Master's.
Students enrolled in the Zoo and Aquarium Science B.S./M.S. program must meet the regular departmental requirements for their Bachelor's degree. During their junior and senior year, students begin to supplement these classes with those that meet the proMSc requirements. Typically this route takes between five and six years, and has the advantage of providing a smooth transition between undergraduate and graduate study, with no GRE requirement. However, three letters of recommendation and a 3.0 GPA are still mandatory for consideration for acceptance to the proMSc program.
